When Joe and I went to Target Field for the first time in July, Alex made us promise him that if we went again, that we would take him with us! We were lucky enough to get tickets for the last regular season series against the Blue Jays for all three of us! I hope I never forget how excited Alex was as we went to the ballpark. He was giddy as the stadium came into view and exclaimed, "There it is!!"
As we walked in the main gates, we brought him over to see the field and we could barely drag him away from it. His eyes were glued to the green grass and all of those Twins players. We finally got to our seats with our food in hand, and Alex kept looking for all of his favorite players. As they were being announced, Alex jumped up and down and clapped for each and every Twin in the starting lineup.
We had a great time. Alex did awesome. We had so much fun and I hope it's something that Alex will remember, just like I remember the baseball games that my dad took me to when I was about Alex's age. Those are the best memories.
