On our final full day visiting DC, we drove out to Baltimore, which is only about an hour away from DC. Besides running into some majorly congested traffic due to a marathon, it was a fun day!
We went to the Baltimore Aquarium, where Alex saw lots of fun animals. He says his favorite things about the aquarium were the jelly fish and getting splashed at the dolphin show!

While in the aquarium, we looked out this giant window at the Inner Harbor. There were these cool dragon paddle boats all over, and Steph and Alex decided they wanted to take one out! It was a beautiful day to be outside enjoying the Inner Harbor.

Joe wanted to see if we could find the Charm City Cakes building while in Baltimore, which is the bakery from the Food Network show, Ace of Cakes. Steph's GPS lead us right to it, and we drove around the block twice to check it out! We also drove by the set for the TV show Homicide: Life on the Streets. As a matter of fact, the day before we had also seen some scenes being shot on the National Mall for the movie, Transformers 3, and we drove by Georgetown Cupcakes, which is featured on the show DC Cupcakes and actually saw the film crew there.
We really, really enjoyed our time in DC. We ate at some really fun restaurants, got to hang out with Steph and Joe's brother Bob, meet some of Steph friends, stay in her new apartment, and just hang out! Steph was a great hostess and took good care of us! Alex was a trooper and he did an awesome job traveling. It's amazing the difference from flying with a two year old and then with a four year old. He sat in his seat, read the safety manual and the Sky Mall magazine, said please and thank you and even got a special treat from the flight attendant for being such a good boy on the flight! On our way home, Joe and I were already planning our next trip out to visit!!
