April Showers??

This winter has seemed endless for me.  The older I get, the less patience I have for the snow and the cold.  When we get to April, it usually feels like we turn a corner in MN.  The days start to get warmer, the tulips start poking through the ground, and I definitely have already put away my winter coat.  Last week at this time (April 22nd) this is what it looked like outside our front window:

Ugh.  This was the third April snowstorm in two weeks.  I was so done with snow.  Well, the older I get, the more I realize the importance of finding a silver lining... so, I have to say that all this snow did help me to further appreciate the beautiful, fantastic, just about perfect weather that rolled around just four short days later:

Bonnie and Tad came over for our first picnic dinner on the deck of the year and we enjoyed hanging out in the warm sunshine and running around in the backyard!  Tad loves his big cousin Alex so much and had fun with him blowing bubbles!

We also made our way down a few blocks to the park nearby our house!  After playing on the playground for awhile, Alex got his bubbles out again and the wind was blowing them everywhere!

We tried to spend as much of the weekend as we could outside!  We all have spring fever!!!

As the saying goes "April (snow?) showers bring May flowers".... although, the May 1st forecast looks like more snow... excuse me while I go to look for another silver lining... this one might be a little harder to find!
