How does your garden grow??

I would say the first year of having a garden has been quite the success thus far. Joe has been doing a great job keeping up with all of the work, and we are now seeing the fruits of his labor. This weekend we picked lots of cucumbers and tomatoes and Alex helped!

A few weeks ago we enjoyed beans and peas from the garden for dinner. Well, mostly beans because Alex and I already ate the peas directly from the pod. Yum!

We have more tomatoes and cucumbers, carrots, dill, peppers, squash and pumpkins that are still growing. It really is fun to have all this fresh produce around.

In one of our planter boxes we have two basil plants, so one night for dinner we had tomato basil pizza. And, last night we ate such a delicious salad, with cukes, tomatoes and peppers from the garden!! You can't beat the freshness of just picked veggies!

I love teaching Alex about where our food comes from and it's been awesome to have all of these great vegetables around to eat. We've also learned a lot about what was easy to grow in our yard and what we will do different next year.

  1. I'm jealous. We may need to get some pointers. Maybe next year we'll actually have a garden!
