On the morning of the very first day of summer vacation, Alex woke up, got dressed in his baseball gear, and busted out of his room saying, "Dad, I'm ready to play baseball!" It was so sweet, until we had to break it to him that it was already raining and so he'd have to wait. He was a little bummed... but awfully cute!
We have had a lot of rainy days since school ended, but when the sun comes out, Alex is begging to go in the backyard to play baseball!
One of the downsides to being an only child, is that you have to figure out how to play many games by yourself. To help avoid frustration, Joe got Alex a pitching machine, which has proved to be lots of fun and he is starting to really get the hang of hitting!
Alex was in heaven when his cousins came to visit and everyone jumped in to play some ball! It made this mom/aunt so happy to see all of the kids (from the youngest to the oldest) play together! It was great to catch up with everyone and Alex and Mary Beth (who are only a few months apart) picked up where they left off last time and played great together!
It was so great to see the North Dakota Calvillos and spend the day together!!
We got a lot of backyard baseball played in the first three days of summer vacation... but the fun is just beginning!!
