We have had a tough few weeks. At the beginning of the month it became clear that we needed to look for a new school for Alex. Wait, what? Don't you love your school? Sigh. Yes. We loved our school. It's part of what made this month so difficult. We have loved Alex's school. We loved all of the Spanish that Alex was learning, his great friends and their parents, and we loved being involved. Unfortunately, it had become clear that the immersion model of learning wasn't the best for Alex. We checked out a few schools nearby and landed on a great Minneapolis community school down the road. Joe, Alex, and I went and toured the school, met his teacher, and checked out his new classroom. We left knowing that this school was going to be great for him.
That didn't make saying goodbye to Windom any easier. But our brave, smart, handsome, courageous boy, packed up his desk and said goodbye to his friends and got ready for his new adventure.
Here is Alex on his first day of his new school!
He had a good first day. His new teacher is amazing and we feel so blessed for Alex to be in her class! We know he's going to do awesome at his new school!!
Thank you Lord Jesus for providing a great school for dear Alex!
