It's time again for the next installment of "from the phone" (with a few pictures from my inbox too!)
We have begun soccer again! We are back at the same park again in Minneapolis, and Alex is really enjoying it this year! Now that he's one year older, he's really getting the hang of the game. It's been fun to see him dribbling the ball and playing defense and passing to his teammates (as opposed to always just running at the ball and kicking it!) I'm really proud of Alex and he's really working hard at being a good teammate and staying focused on the game! Go Green!
Just before school started, Alex got to go to Grandma and Grandpa's in Ramsey for a fun weekend! Grandma Chris emailed me a few pictures of their trip to the Coon Rapids Dam (where we went a lot as kids too!) I always felt a little nervous being so high up and with all of that rushing water, but it didn't seem to faze my boy a bit and everyone looks like they had a great time!
Another thing that happened right before school started (as if I didn't already have enough evidence that he is growing up), is that Alex lost one of his front teeth. He lost it while brushing his teeth and we didn't even realize that it had come out right away! We never found the actual tooth, but lucky for Alex, the tooth fairy still visited him. She left four quarters and a note that said "Where's my tooth? From T.F." He got a kick out of that!!
Alex has been having fun with his friend from the neighborhood and he also had a friend from school over for a play date (again with the growing up, sigh.) Joe said the three boys (including Tad) had fun playing inside and outside. These two boys are seriously two peas in a pod, and I love that Alex has such a great friend!
One day after school, Joe and Alex baked cookies and then after dinner we all decorated them! I love the owls the most, I think! Great family bonding time!
Grandma Chris emailed me a couple of pictures from the Football Party at their house! It was a blast seeing the extended family and the Vikes put on quite the show with last minute field goal and an overtime win. We're pretty sure they won because Alex and Aunt Joan wore their matching Adrian Peterson jerseys!
And that's it for this installment of "from the phone!" Soon, I'm going to share some of the highlights of our new house now that we've lived here a few months!
