Friday Fun!

This summer I was able to rearrange my work schedule to be able to take Fridays off!!  We've been having some extra fun at the end of the week.  Last week, we met our dear friends Lorie and Ellie and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.  As I've mentioned before, Alex loves this place!  It was wonderfully cool inside (it was nearly 100 degrees outside that day), and we had fun looking at art and catching up!

Alex and Ellie love the Van Gogh!
We always have to find the George Washington picture and Alex says, "this is one of my favorites!"
Ellie was a trooper and slept for awhile while we walked through the Impressionists, but woke up in time to see the giant panda and fun modern art!
After we said goodbye to our friends, Alex and I enjoyed a little lunch in the cafe and then went back to see a bit more of the museum.  One of the things that Alex really enjoyed this time was the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit.  They had models of two houses that he designed in the Minneapolis area as well as a bunch of furniture and a hallway from one of the houses.  We looked at those models for a long time!

It was so fun to meet up with our friends, and for Alex and I to have some one on one time.  Now that he's older, we can do more things just the two of us, and it's been a blast.  I just love that little boy and his love for life and art and friends and his mommy and daddy!
