A little update, with pictures!

My dad is working hard to get my laptop up and running again (after it fell and landed directly on the plug in... ouch.) So, I thought this would be a good opportunity to give a family update and share some pictures that we had taken about a month ago for Alex's 3rd birthday.



First of all, I have to give props to my dear friend Cami Thomassen who did our photo session. She took beautiful pictures and we had a great time at Andrews Park (side note: this park is in Champlin where I grew up and spent A LOT of time playing and watching softball... so it was fun do our shoot there!) She captured some great moments with our sweet boy and of our family. I'll share more pictures soon.

We have a couple of other changes in our life coming up soon too... Both Joe and Alex are going to school!!! Joe is enrolled at Century College to get his Spanish Interpreting degree (he did Russian and Spanish Interpreting in the Navy for 15 years, but you have to have a specific degree to do anything with it in the civilian world!) He begins at the end of August. Alex is starting Preschool in September too! The church where I work has a preschool program that is great and Alex is SO excited to start. He asks everyday "Is today when I start preschool?"

Pray for us for the next month or so... Joe is having surgery on his toe next week (yes, the same toe, for those of you who have been following our saga), which will put him in a cast and crutches from anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks or beyond. Ahhhhh.....
