If you are wondering why you haven't heard from us in a little while... it's because we took a last minute trip to Washington DC to see our friend Steph. Joe started a new job today and had a little time off before he started, so we took the opportunity to head to the east coast.
We had a wonderful time... and made the best of the rainy weather. If you can't tell in this picture of us and the White House, it's pouring. By the end of our walk, we were pretty wet.
Steph was our fantastic tour guide and got us around to see so much of the city. We had so much fun hanging out with her. Alex loves his Auntie and he was so glad to visit her!
Alex and I have never been to DC, so everything we did was a first for us. We took our first Metro ride. Alex was very safe and held on to two railings!
One day, in between rain bursts, we made it to the National Zoo... it's easier to pose with a metal animal rather than a real one! :)
We were glad to see our friend Joey for the afternoon, who moved to DC shortly before Steph did! It was so good to visit and catch up with him!
Joe's brother Bob, lives in DC too, and we had hoped to spend more time with him when we went out. But, because of the last minute nature of our trip, we caught him while he was in California for work. We were able to catch up with him for dinner, though, and Alex enjoyed meeting his Uncle Bob in person.

ReplyDeleteAlex loved the zoo and the Natural History Museum... Joe enjoyed the Archives and driving to Baltimore, and I thought the National Cathedral was wonderful and I had fun zipping through the Art Museum! :) Seriously, though, I loved it all!

ReplyDeleteI love DC and can't wait to get up there for a visit myself. Hopefully this spring. Glad you guys got a chance to go. Poor Steph is going to get sick of all those monuments as more of us visit her. :-) But I know she was glad to see you guys!
