Alex was one lucky kid that had birthday celebrations that lasted until the end of July!!! First, on his actual birthday, we had a birthday bash at The Big Thrill Factory! Alex went to a birthday party for a classmate there earlier in the summer and he couldn't get it out of his mind, he had so much fun. He absolutely loved laser tag in particular. So, we got the Chapmans and the Coyers and Steph (we love when it works for her to be in town for Alex's birthday) together and hit the Factory! We ordered a giant pizza for dinner, then had a blast in the Arcade and playing laser tag. Alex (and the rest of us too!) had a blast!
By the time we got home from all that fun, it was a bit too late for cake. Alex was disappointed, until Joe told him that he could have it for breakfast the next morning! Alex was thrilled and we all at ice cream for breakfast that day! Breakfast of Champions!
The birthday celebration continued as Alex got to have birthday weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Kuklok! They had nerf wars, played golf and soccer, bird banding at Springlake Nature Center, and milk carton races and sand castle building at Lake Calhoun (even ran into his friend Cooper from school!) Tons of fun!!
We wrapped up July with a little party with a couple of friends from school! We asked Alex where he'd like to go with his friends, and he said the Science Museum! The boys had a great time and loved checking out all of the exhibits. I knew it they were having fun when I told the boys that we had 15 minutes left before we needed to leave, and they all wanted to stay longer. One of the boys said, "Why did we only get to stay for 1 hour?" I told them we had been there for 3 hours and they couldn't believe it! Success.
I would say that Alex's 8th Birthday was quite a success!!!!
