Last weekend Joe and I had the opportunity to go to Crookston, MN with our pastor and his wife and talk about our new church plant! The weekend coincided with some plans that Alex had with my dad and Chris, so it all worked out really well! Joe and I had some nice time away with lots of quality time together in the car (Crookston is 4.5 hours away!) and Alex got to have fun with Grandma and Grandpa! It was a win for everyone!
Grandma and Grandpa had lots of fun things planned for their weekend with Alex! They went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls and practiced putting....
They also went to a play a The Lyric Arts Theater in Anoka! Alex made sure to get all the actors autographs after the show...
Alex loves loves birds, so Grandma Chris had found that the Springbrook Nature Center was banding birds that weekend, so they went to go check it out. According to Alex, it was awesome, and he got to learn all about why they band birds (to learn more about them and their flight patterns) and even got to help release about 20 birds after they were banded or recorded. Grandpa shot a video of Alex actually releasing a bird, which Joe and I were so excited to see, and Alex has requested to watch it several times this week too!
I'm so thankful for these awesome times Alex gets to spend with his Grandparents and the special time that Joe and I had as well! Besides a car issue for us on the way home (our windshield wipers stopped working during a heavy rainstorm about 2 hours from home), we all had a great weekend!

We had such a wonderful weekend with Alex. Thank you for documenting this for posterity. We are trying to make a better effort with photos-it's fun to look back.
