A little more fun...

Over the last couple of summers, Joe and I have tried to keep a good balance of planned activities and plenty of free time for Alex!  Overall, I think we've done a good job of having things that Alex can look forward to, but not having a crazy schedule so that he (we) can't enjoy having him home in the summer!

Earlier this spring, Joe spotted a free soccer camp in Richfield being offered through Park and Rec over the summer!  Alex was hoping to go to a camp this summer, so that he could work on his skills, so this was perfect (the price was nice too!)  He had a great week and it was fun to see his soccer skills continue to improve.

One of Alex's favorite places in Richfield is the Woodlake Nature Center!  He was excited to attend another one of their day camps again this year, this time it was all about insects!  He got a chance to build a insect circus box, explore the Nature Center to learn more about bugs, and even try and catch a few insects (and a few toads too!)

Grandpa Steve gave Alex another great day to look forward to... he invited him to his work's annual Take your Child to Work Day!  Luckily for Alex, grandkids were welcome too!  When we asked Alex if he wanted to go, he answered without hesitation "yes!"  He and Grandpa had a really great day together and Alex got a chance to see where Grandpa works and some of the cool things that his company is doing.  It was so fun to think of Alex there with my dad, as I can remember going and taking part of those days when I was a kid too!

Alex also had a day out with Gramma Linda and Grandpa Mark!  They went out to Lilli-put and played mini golf, bumper boats, go-carts and had a blast!  They also made a stop at Springbrook Nature Center and got to see a real snake and check out the trails!

So much fun!!!
