July 15, 2006 was an amazing day. Four days before our 3rd anniversary and 30 days before his due date, Alexander Steven was born! It's really hard to believe that it has been 7 years already since that amazing, scary, happy, wonderful, exhausting, incredible day!
Alex awoke on this most special day to a few gifts wrapped up for him! He even got to open them up before breakfast! So exciting!
We had a great birthday planned! After breakfast we went to the MN Zoo, one of Alex's favorite places! We were especially excited to see the new Africa exhibit and the Dinosaurs again! The grizzly bears and penguins are other family favorites!
For dinner, Alex requested Rainforest Cafe! Gramma and Grandpa were still in town, so they, along with Bonnie and Tad, joined us for a special kid's birthday dinner! He loved checking out all the cool stuff around the restaurant, and he was pretty excited about the volcano dessert that came to our table with a sparkler in it!
After our tummies were full, there was one more fun surprise left for this birthday boy! Build a bear! Joe and I weren't totally sure if he would get into it, but he loved it. He picked out the perfect bear, got to put the stuffing in himself, washed him up, and picked out his outfit (Twins uniform, nice choice!) He named his bear Josh after the Twins outfielder, Josh Willingham (another good choice!) It was so fun to spend the day with my most favorite 7 year old!
