Afternoon adventure

As I sat at work today and looked out my office window at the beautiful blue sky, breeze whistling through the trees, and bright sunlight bouncing off the walls, I knew I had to figure out a way to get out and enjoy it a little with my family.  Work has been nonstop for me lately, but I had wrapped up a number of projects today and knew I had some flexibility with my schedule.  I quickly called Joe, and he came to get me from work a little early and we went to pick up Alex from school.  Time for a little surprise adventure!  

We picked up a little treat from Dunn Bros and went to one of Alex's favorite places: Woodlake Nature Center.  This is a wonderful pocket of paths and trails in the midst of the urban jungle. 

 The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed walking through the trails and trying to spot a little wildlife!

It was great to spend a time together as a family.  We love to hear all of the new Spanish words that Alex is learning, and listen to his stories about new friends at school.

We had a wonderful afternoon together!
