We had fun heading to the Target Book Fair at Hyland Park this weekend. Our main motivation for going was to see "DJ Lance" and "Brobee" from Yo Gabba Gabba. It was really fun. They played a bunch of songs that we know and Alex jumped and danced all around with all the other kids.
We also stayed to watch MN native children's book author, Nancy Carlson, read one of Alex's favorite books that she wrote, "I like me!" It was cute to see Alex recite the words from the book as she read. (Kinda of a cool side note, Nancy Carlson came to my elementary school when I was in 2nd grade and signed one of my books, so I love that Alex enjoys her books now too!!!!) The Target dog also made an appearance. Alex has a few stuffed animals (from his great aunt Joan, who has worked for Target Corp, forever!!!), so he thought it was fun to see him walking around.
There was a lot of other stuff happening, but we just stayed long enough to get a snow cone, get some coupons (and a new toothbrush) for some new Target brand stuff, and browse the book store. All in all, a very fun (and free!) event.
That's great, get them started on reading at a young age and they will be readers for life. Great photos, thanks for sharing!
