More fun in Chicago!

Even though it was a quick weekend in Chicago, we still had time for a few fun activities (besides just graduating!)  We had a couple of delicious meals, including a special celebration dinner at a steak house near our hotel, and Lou Malnatti's pizza (which Joe dubbed the best pizza he's ever had!)  My mom and Mark had to head back home on Saturday evening, so Mark could get back in time for church the next morning.  So, after we dropped them at the airport, Joe, Alex, and I wandered along State Street in downtown Chicago, stopping for coffee and a treat and admiring all of the Christmas lights!  With only a few hours on Sunday, before we had to head back home ourselves, we got up early and went back downtown.  Our plan was to go to the Shedd Aquarium, but that plan was quickly squashed as we realized that the Bears were playing a home game across the street!  We drove down Lake Shore Drive a bit and found the Nature Museum!  Alex was thrilled and we had fun exploring!

We loved the butterfly exhibit!  Joe caught some great close ups on the camera!

Before heading to the airport, we found an Italian market and bakery on the southside, and Joe picked an assortment of cookies and cannoli for us to take home!!  We had such a great time in Chicago and can't wait to come back again soon to take in more of the great things that this city has to offer!
