Great trip...

In the spirit of baseball season, here is the play by play of our Easter trip to North Dakota...

Thursday night we drove to Fargo (1/2 way to Joe's brother's house) and stayed at a hotel. Alex was so excited to go swimming. He got all his gear on and was ready!

After a fun night at the hotel, we drove to Grand Forks and met the Calvillo's for lunch. On the road between Fargo and Grand Forks, we saw first hand some of the effects of the flooding. The pictures don't do it justice. We saw fields that looked like large lakes. We saw roads that were washed out and in one place there was water right up to the bottom of an overpass. I'm guessing we didn't even see the worst of it.

While we were waiting to meet our family for lunch, Alex and Joe took a walk around the parking lot and climbed the "mountains" of snow left by the plows, and Joe found $45 in the melting puddles. We couldn't believe it! Needless to say, we bought lunch!

We spent a lot of time hanging out with the fam! We had a great time catching up. Alex had fun playing with his cousins and checking out all the "new" toys.

On Saturday, we dyed Easter eggs... Alex got to pick out his colors and stir the eggs in the dye. His eyes were full of wonder as we let him play with eggs! The big kids had fun trying to make the best egg for Uncle Joe to judge!

On Sunday, Alex got to open his Easter basket... he got a fun few surprises and the movie Kung Fu Panda! After baskets we all hurried up to get ready for church! Aren't Alex and Mary just the cutest?!?!?

We had to head back home Sunday afternoon after a yummy ham dinner (Joe's favorite!) I was so glad that Alex could cuddle with his Aunt Terri and Uncle Louie and get reacquainted with his cousins Terra, Pat, Dominic and Mary... and Joe and I were thankful for the time to spend with all our nieces and nephews!

Hope you all had a blessed Easter!
